Rick Wise got his first Major League win in the 2nd game of a double header in 1964. But a teammate of his got the spotlight on that day that overshadowed him badly. What happened?

When I think of Rick Wise, I think of the two homers he hit off the Reds when he no hit them in the early '70's. However, I know the answer to your question bk. That day Jim Bunning pitched a perfect game in the first game. The only Phillie to do so until I believe Roy Halliday did it. I may be wrong on that part.

Ken. You are right. Also in that No Hitter by Wise if I remember right he only aloud one base runner on a walk. June 21, 1964 was also the day those three civil rights workers were murdered in Mississippi. And it was my Mothers 30th birthday. Father's Day too. What a day for my parents.

Five months before I was born. Oh my. 60 coming up? 65 is what hurts. That is when everyone considers you a senior citizen. In 1973 when I was 17 years old the County Executive was at my High School graduation. Last week I received a letter from the County Executive's office wishing me a happy birthday for senior citizens. OUCH!!
