In Basketball a player can still play even if he has six fouls. It has happened before. How does it happen?

No Ken. It is still on the books. If a player fouls out of the game and there is no one left on the bench that has not already fouled out of the game, The first person on the bench who fouled out can come back in the game. And if he fouls, It becomes a technical foul and a regular foul.

barkeep, is this an old rule that's since been changed? I have no answer. It happened around I think 30 years ago in a game involving the Utah Jazz. I think they had a lot of injuries and only had 8 players. After 4 Fouled out the Jazz had to bring back a fouled out player. I think the ABA in their last year tried the rule so all the players could play. It was called the, No Foul Out Rule.
