What baseball player was standing near home plate when two different batters circled the bases after their 715th home runs?

I believe he is still involved in the major leagues today.

It was Davy Johnson. The clue is "standing near home plate". Maybe a trick question. Dusty was on deck behind Aaron, but Johnson was in the background swinging donuts or whatever. And, Davy was on deck when Sadahru Oh hit his 715th. About as close as you can get with two 715 homers. Now you can throw tomatoes at me!

I was thinking waaaay wrong! I thought Dusty was with the Giants when Bonds hit his, but he was with the Cubs by then. Sadahru Oh did not even come to mind with me. Great question Ken.

OH Boy. I never thought of Japanese baseball. 868 home runs. If a baseball player hit 62 home runs in one year, He would have to do that for 14 seasons just to match Oh. Will Aaron Judge. 1 down 13 to go.

Ken. Do you think Pete Rose got 5,000 hits if you include his Minor League, Post season and pre-season hits?

I looked that up barkeep. Pre-season hits I could not find, but all others would total 4769. So that is a NO!

I looked that up barkeep. Pre-season hits I could not find, but all others would total 4769. So that is a NO! Pre-season players get paid. So that makes them professionals. 23 years of Pre-season baseball at around 30 games a year is about 700 games. Let's say he played in 400 of them. I think he would have got at least 300 hits.
